Kara Manso | ECONOMIES OF CARE

Economies of Care
Image

Reflecting upon the impact of isolation and the challenges many Care Workers face in Canada, artist Kara Manso has given each Care Worker in this Wimmelbook-style illustration a story mined from her own experience as a former Care Worker and a current organizer with the Caregivers Action Centre. Each story is unique, but echoes similar concerns and struggles with being separated from family, poor work environments, and a complex immigration bureaucracy. As you explore these illustrations and stories, Manso asks us to reflect upon the value of Care Workers and their work to support families and the Canadian economy.

"Do you see me? If you do, click on me and hear my story."
